Icebreaker’s broken the ice at Chadstone

It’s no lie that merino wool is a beautiful fabric to wear.

It breathes naturally, keeps us warm when it’s cold, cool when it’s hot, remains cleaner for longer and serves its purpose brilliantly when you’re living, working or playing outdoors.

Icebreaker, a New Zealand founded merino wool clothing label that now operates internationally as well as in Melbourne was one such company that cottoned on to the fact and has made the most of it. Icebreaker uses merino wool, fortified in some garments with other naturally occurring fabrics that are both durable and relatively sustainable, making the clothing more than just woolen wonders.

Since 1994 when Icebreaker’s founder Jeremy Moon was introduced to merino wool products by his girlfriend, his life changed. He noticed that the clothing market that catered for outdoorsy stuff was made in segments and no one was using entirely merino wool. The range of Icebreaker’s products are broken down into four distinct categories: outdoor and hiking, snow sports, running and fitness, travel and lifestyle. Needless to say, Icebreaker’s customer base is and wide and varied as the use of the fabric the products are made of.
