Hawkeye pops-up… Again
Tucked away at the end of Hazeldon Place behind the bustling Chapel St. precinct, an unassuming warehouse with two white balloons signal the entrance to Melbourne’s vintage re-seller Hawkeye Vintage and their three-day pop-up store.
A red carpet and walled entrance lined with green ivy transform this gallery space into a mecca for all things old that are new again. Models walk the make-shift runway in gorgeous vintage ensembles from high-end designers such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Fendi and Missoni, showcasing the Hawkeye Vintage 60s-90s collection.
A DJ plays, wine is poured and homemade cupcakes (which are as pretty as a picture!) from local café Bake&Co. are circulated amongst a flurry of intricate designs, textures and colourful pieces, giving nod to an era of style and sophistication.
Among the little treasures – a Chanel tweed jacket circa 1960, a Missoni sun dress, a vintage gold D&G ring, Hermes printed silk scarves – guests were treated to a gorgeous museum display featuring vintage ensembles from Hawkeye’s archives, including a 1995 Chanel ready to wear suit once worn by the fabulous Naomi Campbell.
With over 1200 pieces to shop from, fashion lovers and vintage appreciators alike will be in absolute heaven at this fun and playful event which runs over 3 days.
Shopping for a good cause is always a treat, and 10% of all the sales during the Hawkeye pop up event will go to Make-A-Wish Australia – how fabulous!
