A day with a Harlotte named Mr. Browne

The product launch of Harlotte Cosmetics and Mr Browne Tanning Essentials held at Hotel Centennial in Sydney presented ranges of each of the brands in a beautiful sample suite for all involved to try. With intimate introductions to the products by their founders Michelle Crofts and Joanne Rathbone, guests were guided through the collections before testing the samples.

Harlotte was produced by makeup artist, Michelle Crofts, who in her work realised finding the perfect nude lip colour – so often requested by clients – was a difficult task for something which should be so simple. Harlotte’s seductive range therefore stems from the iconic ideal of smoky eyes and a nude lip to lift a strong, resolute and sexy woman, and has since begun venturing into bolder and brighter palettes.

With lippy names such as Striptease, Mistress, Peak-a-boo and Exposed, it’s easy to see why these beautiful products are causing a stir. Harlotte’s Afterglow foundation range glides on easily and blends meticulously with a natural, dewy finish to leave you radiating, and Smudge eye pencil is easy to use and readily transformable from a strong, sleek line to an alluring smoky eye. With the figurehead of a beautiful, enigmatic woman at the forefront of the brands mind when creating its products, the range is nothing less than enthralling.

Mr Browne saw a gap in the market when it came to the flooded array of fake tanning products – nothing was directed towards the niche market of men. From here, the brand formulated a range with the direct needs of men in their mind, creating an easy to use, natural looking tan.

Without the dreaded fake-tan scent or streaky look, the light-feeling but effective tanner is created to work through facial and body hair and is made from a green-toned base to avoid the notorious “oompa-loompa syndrome”. Joanne Rathbone spoke of how a tan can add to one’s self confidence immensely, and with the ban of solariums imminent in Sydney, and skin cancer awareness as prevalent as ever, fake tanning is the best way to come about a healthy glow.

The launch of these products made it clear to guests that these up-and-comers are definitely ones to watch in the market. With their clever branding and clear target audiences, these two are onto something special. And with such beautiful products, the pair cover all bases when it comes to looking your finest.
