Gin and bear it at Grain Bar Sydney this summer

If you like your gin – and these days, who doesn’t? – you’ll want to get yourself along to Grain Bar at The Rocks, poste haste.

In celebration of the Summer of Gin, the bar has launched an exclusive collaboration with Sydney distillery Archie Rose, and the gin is all yours to try during the month-long calendar of events.

Part of what makes this particular collaboration so exciting is that Archie Rose’s limited release gins have sold out so quickly in the past.

The Archie Rose x Horisumi collection was wildly popular, selling out very quickly online and leaving only a scant few bottles left in stockists around Sydney. The Grain Archie Rose gin is only available at Grain Bar, and only until the first week of March: once it’s gone, sadly, it’s gone.

If you’re in to your tasting notes, you’ll find the flavours of Dorrigo pepperleaf, coriander seed, cassia, cardamom, and even a rare mandarin that can only be found within the Grain Archie Rose gin. These botanicals combine to give a light and floral, yet spicy and peppery, flavour – perfect in a martini, or paired with your tonic of choice. If you’re still a gin novice, though, and find it hard to differentiate between your pepperleaf and peppercorn and coriander and cumin, don’t worry: the team at Grain Bar have a whole host of events planned this Summer, to get you thinking and drinking like a gin expert.

Between the 19th and 26th of January, you can dip your foot in the water (no pun intended) with a tasting of three classic Australian gins. Kick off February by making your very own Tanqueray perfume, or drop in between February 16th and 23rd to try the gin matching menu that allows you a sampling of tonics and garnishes to try with each sip. End the Summer of Gin by trying Grain Bar’s own gin infusions, between February 23rd and March 2nd, although be warned: we have been told some infusions are not for the faint of heart!
