Emeralds are a Pantone lover’s best friend

Pantone has just announced the colour of the year to be emerald.

Get excited, people.

Sadly for myself, emerald green isn’t the right hue nor shade of the colour my pale complexion allows me to rock, but still, there are many a woman and fashion-forward man out there who would love to – and what’s more, be able to – don the colour for the sake of playing the part.

Pantone as you know is one of the world’s biggest and best authorities on colour and its use in practically all circumstances. In light of this, there’s no wonder what they say tends to go.

In a new movie by the cinematic factory that is Disney, one of their latest productions due for release on 7 March 2013 is Oz The Great and Powerful, which will hit the big screens Australia-wide and make a splash not only in the imaginations of people who grew up singing “We’re off to see the wizard…”, but the world of Australian beauty and trend setting, especially those who love and live by colour.

As you can imagine, for a movie focused on a man who lives in the Emerald City, there’s no other perfect time, right?

Hollywood actress Rachel Weisz has sported the colour along with her male counterpart in the film James Franco, all of who adopt a magical, mystical air for the betterment of the storyline. Cute.

“I wear a green dress pretty much all the time. It is slightly militaristic, because I’m sort of the military leader of Emerald City, as well,” said Rachel.

Pantone colors are all so fabulous and Emerald is a prime example! We love it so much that we put together a fabulous outfit on our blog to show how to dress wearing Pantone’s Emerald using a triadic color palette. xoxo, WearToStandOut
