Cirque Du Soleil Is Back With ‘Kooza’
Cirque Du Soleil is the circus. Acrobats, body artists, the more traditional crafts and ones you never thought you’d see in life all make their way to the ring to showcase the limits of the human body with more finesse than your mind can possibly handle. That’s the MO behind the likes of the Baie-Saint-Pau, Canada-founded circus that since the eighties has encapsulated the world.
This year, they’re back in Australia with their latest instalment, Kooza and it doesn’t leave the imagination wanting. Cirque du Soleil rediscovers its origins with the company’s eighth Big Top show to tour Australia. It’s a return to the intimate and fundamental human elements of circus and the show combines thrilling acrobatic performance with the art of clowning. Depending on what you think of clowns.
The story follows ‘The Innocent’ as he takes a journey of self-discovery through a comic kingdom of eccentric characters, electrifying thrills and out-of-the-box surprises. The entire performance is presented in a colorful me?lange and it springs open like a bejeweled toy box to capture the audience’s imagination and set their pulse racing.
It’s premiering this year in Sydney on 25 August 2016. See more here.
