3 things to consider before buying private land

Farm land

There’s something quite interesting and adventurous about becoming a landowner, especially if your land has no property or construction upon it yet. Depending on the zoning laws of your country, state or area, it’s important to note that what you can do with the land, such as building on it, might be limited. On top of that, just because a piece of land looks good and seems stable doesn’t mean its suitable for construction. For this reason, it’s always good to know what you’re buying and what your protections are. For instance, you may need to provide access to your private land if public utilities such as oil pipelines or cellular towers are upon them.  There are many things to consider when buying private land; and in this post we hope to clear some of them up. From here, you can continue in with your plans, such as implementing water bore drilling for a private water supply, or integrating a septic tank for a portable sewage solution. Let’s consider some additional advice in that vein: Irrigation & Water Runoff It’s important to consider the irrigation and water runoff needs or installations on the land itself. This is especially important for land at the… Read More

Starring vibrant new work by Justene Williams commissioned exclusively for the new art fair and supported by the Australia Council for the Arts, alongside the Performance Contemporary program with performances by cutting-edge, experimental artists, curated by Jeff Khan (Artistic Director) and Samantha Watson-Wood (Artistic Advisor) of Performance Space, the gallery will be one epic way to while away a weekend. Featuring three performative boat sculptures with colourfully painted sails that will be rocked and swung by singing performers in sculptural weather costumes. The performance will take place on the Collector’s Preview on Wednesday 7 September and during the Opening Night on Thursday 8 September. But that’s not all. On Friday Night Art Night (9 September) the Fair will present a curated program of performance, talks and music. The headline talk titled NFTs: Sizzle or Fizzle will explore timely issues including the recent bursting of the crypto-currency bubble, and whether or not this will allow for a more measured assessment of the potential of NFTs for artistic expression. The panel includes an art consultant advocate of NFTs, artists working at the forefront of digital art technology, and a collector and a gallerist each with experience in this sphere. Performances by… Read More
