Australian Graduates Fashion Week

An all new event making its mark on the Australian fashion industry in November of 2012, the Australian Graduates Fashion Week will celebrate all that’s good in young Australian designers.

From 24-25 November, the runway extravaganza is set to storm Sydney’s fashion stage and is focused on up-and-comers of the fashion industry. The shows will feature the works of students from universities, TAFE institutions, colleges and other schools and will do its best in giving them a platform from which to start their fashion dreams.

You know it’ll be good if it’s anything like RMIT University’s graduate parade at this year’s 2012 Melbourne Spring Fashion Week. Students are the freshest most up-and-coming leaders of the fashion industry, with each year, more and more fresh, new and exciting ideas being brought to the table; they’re the ones to watch and the pacemakers that’ll set the trends for years and decades to come.

The week, too, will be playing its part in proactively encouraging 100 students from around Australia and New Zealand to kick-start their careers in fashion and design by offering them a chance to win $10,000.

The goal is to support the future of Australian fashion, presenting them to the nation what they’re capable of.

Any student interested in participating should register at: www.agfw.com.au
