The Audi Hamilton Island Race Week

With summer coming up in a couple of months, it’s time to get excited about boats, sailing, the beach and a good old fashion regatta.

While there’s nothing I love more than the bourgeois use of the word ‘regatta’, especially with an old world English accent, there’s one taking place in the sunny, summery beauties of Hamilton Island that’s stirred my interest. Why? Boats, cars, fashion and sophisticated living. Why not?

Hamilton Island’s Race Week is the largest, international offshore regatta in the Southern Hemisphere and has this year partnered with NET-A-PORTER and MR PORTER to evolve to include on-water racing paired with off-water events along the lines of fashion, cuisine, champagne and celebrity guests

This year the event runs from  16-23 August and will prominently feature a nice hub operated by NET-A-PORTER, which will host a private style suite on-site for guests as well as present a dedicated fashion show of some of the best of its premium designer offering.

Conversely, MR PORTER will partner with the annual Charles Heidsieck Champagne Lunch, which takes place on the last day of the race and is supposedly a very popular event. Complete with an exclusive list of 250 guests, Qualia executive chef Alastair Waddell will be whipping-up some of his renowned delectables.

Meanwhile, the mind behind NET-A-PORTER‘s personal shopping arm, Lupe Puerta will be at the event privately consulting guests in the style suite, taking from her extensive experience in serving some of the most elite clients of NET-A-PORTER. She’ll be sharing her insights on trends, style advice and showing an edited selection of looks from some of the world’s top fashion brands.

Makes you love boats, cars and regattas that much more, huh?
