Archie Rose Distillery gin Japanese Winter cocktail 2

Here’s how Archie Rose Distillery is your new favourite tattoo parlour

Sydney’s Archie Rose Distilling Co. has teamed with Horisumi-Winter to create the second of four rare gins in collaboration with tattoo artist, Horisumi. It’s great.

It has been created to conjure the familiar scents and emotions of the colder months – the freshness and purity of winter air and the clarity of aromas whilst using Horisumi’s poignant and intricate illustrations as inspiration.

It’s a really interesting collaboration in that it challenges the typical product development process whereby Horisumi’s artwork, its symbolism and the Japanese seasons lead the spirit as opposed to the botanicals and production process leading the creation of the gin. If you’ve tried Archie Rose Distillery’s gin before, you’d know this is a big thing.

This Winter gin has been created to conjure the familiar scents and emotions of the colder months – the freshness and purity of winter air and the clarity of aromas whilst using Horisumi’s poignant and intricate illustrations as inspiration.

The label design for Horisumi – Winter captures the essence of this beautiful Japanese season with a falcon perched on a pine tree branch and Mount Fuji as the backdrop. As such, the gin’s flavour profile gives a nod to its Japanese namesake whilst showcasing locally grown ingredients including Tasmanian Kombu, Fuji apples, Sencha and Genmaicha.

Check it out at the Archie Rose Distillery, Rosebery.
