Winter’s cold, so cocktails kind of take a back seat when it comes to deciding what to drink. Though if any of the recipes to come out of Catalina Rose Bay in Sydney have anything to do with it, that doesn’t need to be the case.

Catalina Rose Bay Count of Montenegro cocktail recipe

The Count of Montenegro

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Servings: 1

Ingredients:

A Twist on the “Penicillin”. Amaro Montenegro shaken with lemon, honey syrup and thyme.

45mL Amaro Montenegro

15mL Ardberg whiskey (float)

30mL lemon juice

30mL honey syrup

2 sprigs of thyme

Method:

Shake Amaro Montenegro, lemon juice, honey syrup and one sprig of thyme.

Double strain over fresh ice into rocks glass and float Ardbeg whisky on top.

Garnish with thyme sprig

Catalina Rose Bay cocktail recipe Dirty Harry

Dirty Harry

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Servings: 1

Ingredients:

15ml Kraken dark spiced rum

45ml Frangelico

15ml lime juice

Capi ginger beer

Method:

Rim tall glass with cinnamon sugar.

Shake Frangelico, Kraken rum and lime.

Double strain over fresh ice.

Top with Capi ginger beer.

Garnish with lime wheel and cinnamon quill.

Catalina Rose Bay Get Figgy With It cocktail recipe

Get Figgy with it

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Servings: 1

45ml Poor Tom’s Gin

15ml Esprit de Figues liqueur

30ml lime juice

15ml sugar

Eggwhite

Method:

Combine all except fig liqueur, dry shake, wet shake.

Double strain over ice into rocks glass.

Float Fig liqueur on top.

Garnish with fresh fig slice.
